Right to Repair
Our vision is to seek reflection & change in our relationship with gadgets and to advocate for more repairable products and pro-repair policies in Nigeria.

The idea behind “right to repair” is in the name: if you own something, you should be able to repair it yourself or take it to a technician of your choice.
Unfortunately, our gadgets have become near impossible to repair, with manufacturers doing everything they can to keep us from fixing our devices such as gluing parts together, using software to slow down phones or using proprietary screws.
As advocates for the right to repair in Nigeria, we are determined to drive the change needed for consumers to be able to modify and repair their devices by themselves.
Our Objectives
Allow
Unlocking
The government should legalize unlocking, adapting, or modifying a device, so an owner can install custom software.
Accommodate Repair
in the Design
Everyone should have reasonable access to manuals, schematics, and software updates. Software licenses shouldn’t limit support options and should be clear what’s included in a sale.
Make Information
Available
Everyone should have reasonable access to manuals, schematics, and software updates. Software licenses shouldn’t limit support options and should be clear what’s included in a sale.
Make Parts and
Tools Available
The parts and tools to service devices, including diagnostic tools, should be made available to third parties, including individuals.
What We Hope to Achieve
Well, right-to-repair legislation would establish rules that promote repairability practices throughout industries including consumer technology, agricultural and medical equipment.
By requiring manufacturers to sell replacement parts and make documentation available, such laws would make it easier for people to extend the life of the products they buy. Real economic benefits for our people and longer life of products mean less e-waste and landfill.
Our Industry Initiatives
Through a set of industry initiatives, we hope to reach out to communities, industry stakeholders and policymakers.
Repair Directory
We are building the first-ever repair directory which will give people access to contact information of repair technicians in Nigeria. Sign up or share with a friend.

Partner With Us
Right to repair supports and promotes the development of repair information and repair policies for electronic gadgets as a resource to enrich people’s lives, and a force for good in society. Our work aligns with our goals for repair to be open, cheap, secure, and inclusive. We seek collaboration with all who share these goals.
Together, we can focus on building and supporting the communities that make repair and maintenance of electronic products work; advancing the development and application of repair information and infrastructure, training, and open standards; and advocating for policy that is consistent with our view on right to repair with intersectionality on gender, economic inclusion and minorities.
